Summitcrimsonvally provides general information about desert geology and landscape photography. The material is not professional geological, engineering, legal or safety advice. It does not certify mineral identity, slope stability, route suitability or the conditions at any particular location.

Field decisions remain site-specific

Desert travel can involve flash floods, heat, unstable edges, rockfall, isolation and other hazards. This website is not a navigation service or emergency resource. Check current official forecasts, closures, access permissions and land-manager guidance. Do not rely on a photograph, general explanation or historical description to decide whether an activity is safe.

Respect Indigenous governance, private property, permit requirements, cultural protections and restrictions on collecting and photography. A place being mentioned here does not grant access or permission to photograph, sample or publish sensitive information about it.

Accuracy and availability

We aim for clear, cautious explanations, but information may contain errors, become outdated or omit local conditions. Geological interpretations can change. External links are provided for context and do not imply endorsement, affiliation or a guarantee of their contents. We are not affiliated with the National Park Service, U.S. Geological Survey, Utah Geological Survey or Navajo Nation Parks & Recreation.

The site and its tools are provided as available, without a promise of uninterrupted access, a particular result or a response to correspondence. Any limitation applies only to the extent permitted by law. Nothing here excludes liability or statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
